SALES ASSISTANT (15-20 hours / week) – Mid-february 2026 Start date

Ghost Whale is hiring! We have a tight knit, wonderful team and are looking for a bright, friendly & beer-knowledgable person to join us. This evening & weekend focused role of 15-20 hours/week (plus additional cover for holidays etc) will require you to be able to work across both our Brixton and Putney Stores as a sales assistant.

  • THE ROLE

    We’re looking for a friendly and enthusiastic person to join the team as a sales assistant. As well as helping customers in-store and fulfilling online orders, you will ensure that the shop is well stocked, clean and tidy.

  • KNOWLEDGE

    A very good knowledge of craft beer is essential to the role, along with an awareness of developments across the industry. You will be able to knowledgeably assist our customers by offering recommendations and insight into the products we sell.

  • EXPERIENCE

    Our customers are at the heart of our business and we expect them to have an exceptional experience with us. It is essential that you have experience in a customer facing role, within a retail and/or bar setting.

  • HOURS

    This role is usually 3 shifts per week – averaging about 20 hours a week – starting mid-February 2026. You will be based at both our Brixton and Putney stores – you must be able to work at both locations. For the right candidate, there is an opportunity for increased hours. You must be available to work evenings and weekends – the shifts are mostly focused on Friday – Sunday with an additional weekday evening.
